EPS 100 Assignments
The two assignments I chose to add to my portfolio activities we worked on in the seminar class as a group. The first assignment I chose was Schooling and Differences, and the second was Teacher Professionalism.
The Schooling and Differences assignment was a group discussion where every person in our group had to label him or herself with a difference. Then we had to explain that difference and how we would like to be treated because of this difference. This activity was really interesting as it gave me insight to how different people would feel when they have something about them that many wouldn’t describe as “normal”. The difference I chose was having an allergy and how in a school that could cause many problems. After completing this assignment I learned that my entire group valued similar things when it came to how we wanted to be treated, the most common being not labelled with a difference.
The Teacher Professionalism assignment was also a group discussion that made me think about how to teach successfully. This assignment made me realize many of the problems teachers face everyday, and also how to approach those problems. I had to take into consideration acting professionally. This assignment made me think more critically how I would have to approach conflict, with any person, while teaching, and how I will treat people once I am in the role of a teacher.
